Free Program: The 5 Stages of Healing Trauma

Published: Tue, 11/02/21

We all share the same five defensive states, evolved over time to help us respond to danger and keep us safe.

Today’s Extraordinary Complimentary Program will detail what these five defensive states are and teach you how to heal your own traumas (or you can be certified as a trauma coach (optional) to assist others to heal.

You’re probably familiar with the first two—Fight and Flight—but there are three more that you may not be aware of, even though you may have experienced them:

  1. Fight: Becoming aggressive in the face of a perceived threat
  2. Flight: The urge to flee a stressful—or seemingly stressful—situation
  3. Freeze: A reaction that doesn’t feel like a reaction at all; not being able to think or move
  4. Submit: Appeasing others when faced with a threatening situation
  5. Attach: Forming unhealthy bonds after perceived situations of stress

When our brains react to threats—or perceived threats—they can override our regulated state. And being in hijacked emotional states like these can lead to frustration, confusion, and exhaustion. Not to mention the effects it can have on our relationships.

In an effort to shed light on these five defensive states and uncover how we can rise above the hold each state can have on us, renowned trauma healing expert Dr. Jeffrey Rutstein has created a FREE five-video series.

In each video, Dr. Rutstein explores these states and outlines practical, everyday tips for counteracting them. In this way you can move towards being the calming, healing presence in the room.

Access the full series here at no cost.

You’ll also learn how you can be certified as a Trauma Coach.
