Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all who celebrate this joyous season.

Today’s message is all about gratitude and how to use it to manifest unending blessings in your life.

Gratitude, having an attitude of thankfulness is a conscious choice we can embrace to add joy and abundant blessings to our lives. It is a key element in the attainment of happiness, wealth, relationship harmony, success, and fulfillment. Being grateful is the antidote to all the challenges of the ego including being a victim, feeling sorry for yourself, having a scarcity mentality and the perception of lacking. It allows us to gain a sense that we are connected to all the good the universe has to offer us and is an activating force that enables us to receive more blessings from the universe.

Having faith that the universe will provide us with everything we need fuels positive expectations and supports self-motivation to become a self-fulfilling prophesy. It is important to be grateful for everything big and small. You will create more of what you want by being grateful in advance of receiving. This faith creates an energy of attraction for the things you desire to come to you.

Gratitude is an important element in connecting to the Divine source. It is the antidote to self-pity, resignation, isolation and ignorance. Gratitude allows us to transform the negative happenings in our lives to positive ones. Always remember that we have the ability to create an empowering interpretation to see the good in everything. When we realize that “it is all good” we can look for the gifts in any experience and be grateful.

When we lack gratitude, we operate from a distorted perspective that does not support our happiness, energy, and personal power. We can find good in everything if we ask ourselves the right questions. Ask, “What is good about this?” “What gift awaits my discovery here?” How does this contribute to my understanding, soul growth, compassion and ability to have empathy for others?”

Gratitude promotes positive thinking, healthy spirituality, and because all physical disease is a manifestation of an internal mental or spiritual condition, it supports good health. It supports our relationships as it helps us feel loved and cared for by others, thus elevating our self-esteem and happiness. Gratitude strengthens spirituality and is a form of love that attracts love into our lives.

Gratitude allows us to be more aware of spotting the serendipitous opportunities in our lives that we can then act upon, rather than allow to pass us by when we are unaware of them. When we commit to being grateful in our relationships with our spouse or significant other, we look for things that make us happy, allowing us to perpetuate that happiness.

One of the most effective ways to magnify the beneficial effects of possessing an attitude of gratitude is have an intention of looking for reasons to be grateful on a daily basis. Gratitude counteracts our addictive emotional states of anger, sadness, or fear. When we create interpretations that are free of negative emotions, we enhance our relationships, personal effectiveness, happiness, peace of mind and health. Gratitude is directly proportional to happiness. The more grateful you are, the happier you will be. Better health, increased wealth and prosperity, better attitude and disposition, improved relationships and personal effectiveness, higher self esteem, greater happiness and enhanced emotional health, the ability to create greater success are all supported by adopting a commitment to being grateful.

When we see the world through grateful eyes, we can direct our attention toward contributing to others, expanding our horizons and taking profitable risks instead of wallowing in self-pity and shrinking from fully realizing our potential.

Exercises for Manifesting Gratitude in Your Life

  1. Create a written vision that includes all the things in each of the 6 areas of your life (health and appearance, wealth and finances, career, relationships, personal and spiritual development, and having fun and living with passion) for which you are grateful. Be clear about all the things you will manifest and expect to attract into your life and be grateful for. Write these in the first person, present tense as if they have all already manifested and you are enjoying them in your life. Read this vision daily upon rising and before bed.

  1. I challenge you to take an area of your life that is not working optimally such as your relationships, your business, your health, your communication, your self-esteem, etc…and add a commitment to gratitude by looking for reasons to be grateful. Journal each one on a daily basis for the next 30 days.

  1. Make a list of as many as 5 past traumatic experiences or upsetting events and identify the gifts that you received as a result of these experiences. In any area where you are feeling sorry for yourself or living with regrets, identify at least one reason to be grateful and ask yourself, “Am I willing to give up my right to be a victim and feel sorry for myself and look for the good in this experience?”

  1. Make a list of your current challenges and ask yourself what gifts have and will result from each one. Be grateful for each as you describe it in detail.

  1. Catch yourself whenever you forget to be grateful, complain, gossip, or find fault. Forgive yourself and look for the gift in each experience and decide to be grateful in the moment.

  1. Acknowledge yourself for something daily. Write out all the reasons for you to be grateful for the person you have decided to be.

  1. Acknowledge others for something daily and express your gratitude to them for the contribution they are to you in specific detail. Say, “I am grateful to you for …..”

When you adopt an attitude of gratitude in your daily life, you will be blessed by the many miracles that are sure to appear.
